Baybay City- Visayas State University (VSU) extends the suspension of classes in all levels including NSTP/CWTS activities amid the general community quarantine as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 until April 17, 2020.
VSU President Edgardo E. Tulin, on March 18, 2020, released the Memorandum Circular No. 39 following the Provincial Government Executive Order No. 03-2020-03 S. 2020 “An Order Placing the Entire Province of Leyte Under General Community Quarantine and Enhancing the Implementation of Mandatory Precautionary Measures Against COVID-19” and CHED Advisory No. 5 dated March 17, 2020.
The memorandum included the extension of class suspension, holding of online classes, and continued implementation of flexible or alternative work arrangements for VSU employees who are working in the office or at home.
Dr. Tulin emphasized that all faculties who are currently using online learning modules are directed to exercise leniency on requirements to give consideration to students who do not have access to an internet connection.
However, he assured that all medical and security officers of the university shall continue its operation.
The president also encourages all VSU students and employees to take recommended precautionary measures against the virus and to keep posted on the updates published by the university.
