Naval, Biliran – VSU’s table tennis women reclaims champ title against the Sea Lions of Philippine Institute of Technology (PIT) with a score of two to one in the SCUAA games, Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
Athletes, Deina Ela Carrasco, Mary Jeah Gonzales, Richelle Gundimaro, Lady Mae Sebidos and Ann Gay Vestra, of VSU Pythons contended against the Sea Lions of PIT for gold in the championship round. Pythons won with a score of 2-1, while the Sea Lions settled for Silver.
Pythons defeated the Sea Lions in the preliminary rounds with a score of 2-1, and Leyte Normal University (LNU) Huskies with a score of 2-0 advancing Pythons to the quarter finals. A score of 2-0 against Biliran Province State University pushed VSU’s Pythons to the semi-finals. Beating Northwestern Samar State University’s (NwSSU) Lions with a score of 2-0 secured Pythons place in the finals.
Having defended their title, table tennis women athletes will proceed to next year’s National SCUAA as representative of Region eight in table tennis.
