Visayas State University (VSU) Taekwondo Exhibition matches under Goodwill Games 2023 officially ceased in the afternoon of April 24 at VSU Gymnasium, concluding VSU Team Pythons and VSU-Tolosa as the top performers of the bout.

The matches are divided per weight division, with men having seven (7): fin weight, flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, and middle-heavyweight, and women’s categories having fin, fly, bantam, feather, light-welter, and middleweight, respectively.

Team Pythons garnered four (4) gold medals courtesy of Rasheed Kangleon in bantamweight, Clent Austero in lightweight, Jasper Taborosa in welterweight, and Jesse Ranin in middle-heavyweight. VSU-Tolosa, on the other hand, landed three (3) golds in the fin weight, flyweight, and featherweight categories in the names of James Facturan, Marlon Bonganciso and Rylan James. 

Women’s Team Pythons’ entries snatched an additional four (4) first places in fin weight (Katelyn Poras), bantamweight (Analie Maike), featherweight (Charlene Gayo), and light-welterweight (Louise Posas). VSU-Tolosa’s Roxanne Animos notched gold in flyweight, while Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC) of Baybay City also hit gold in the middleweight division.
