BAYBAY CITY, Leyte – After going to Tacloban City on July 3 to submit the documents for the 5,000-peso aid from Commission of Higher Education (CHED), VSU's Dean of Students, Prof. Manolo B. Loreto has come back and brought good news with him.
CHED has extended the application for the one time 5,000-peso aid grant to students affected by the super typhoon Yolanda in 2013. According to Prof. Loreto, CHEDRO VIII has not specified a new deadline but the University Students Services Office (USSO) will be accepting papers until July 14, 2017 to give time to process these documents.
Students who were enrolled during the second semester of school year 2016 – 2017, and who have no prior financial assistance or scholarship program from any government agency—this includes University, College and Academic Scholars—are qualified.
Everyone is required to submit their Certificate of Registration, the duly accomplished application form from CHED, and certification that your area was affected by typhoon Yolanda.
Students who are away, can submit their documents through a courier like LBC and may address it directly to Prof. Manolo B. Loreto. USSO will be facilitating those unable to send their COR’s by getting a copy from the registrar.
It is highly recommended, however, that students submit complete documents for faster administering.
