Three years since their last victory, the Zea Mays Men’s Hall (ZMMH) once again proved that it is not only a home of handsome faces, but of handsome minds as well. Team ZMMH of the United Lower Campus (ULC) finished on top of the game during last night’s University Inter-dormitory Student Body (UISB) Quiz Show held at the VSU Convention Center.
Out of 25 participating dormitories and cottages, the five (5) groups that made it to the final round of the competition were the Daffodil Cottage, Zea Mays Men’s Hall, Mulberry Men’s Home and two teams from the Molave Men’s Hall.
A score of 320 points decided ZMMH’s victory, followed by the two teams from Molave Men’s Hall as second and third placers, and Daffodil Cottage and Mulberry Men’s Home in the fourth and fifth places respectively.
The ZMMH team said that the secret behind their success was perseverance, trust in each other, faith in God and strategic preparation.
The UISB Quiz Show is an annual inter-dormitory event in line with a series of UISB activities for the entire school year. UISB President Margraf von Jean Eslopor said that the show is a way to remind the dormitory occupants that they are special and valued.
“The goal of the quiz show is to highlight or showcase the skills of the dormitory and cottage occupants. The Student Body wants the occupants to know that they are special and valued,” said Eslopor.
UISB’s next activity, the UISB Sportsfest, will be held next semester.
