BAYBAY CITY, Leyte – Sylvan Dragon’s Rheyl Mark L. Cabaquing and Guardian’s Ladylyn M. Candela were hailed as the Ginoong Malakas and Binibining Maganda 2019 during the University-Wide Intramural Games held in Visayas State University (VSU) gymnatorium on September 18, Wednesday.
Cabuquing and Candela raised triumphant from 7 paired candidates from the 10 factions vying for the crown.
Candela took the hearts of the judges with her winning answer, “I do believe that everyone of us staying in this society (a complex one, to be exact) has actually so much inside that’s hard to be shown, but one thing in order for you to be part of a group, you must have one good attitude, a good personality that must be versatile enough for you to be fit in any society you are in especially to sports. You must have this good personality that is associated with sportsmanship and most especially to discipline where it will lay you to humble and a peaceful fruit of righteousness especially if you are well-trained by it.””
Meanwhile, Cabuquing achieved success with his answer, “I believe that this theme highlights the value, the essence of team work. Teamwork is about reconnecting to people, building relationship because through socialising, engaging ourselves in sports and with other people, we will not only learn new things but we will also discover more about ourselves and grow more as an individual. We should always keep in mind that our skills and talents may make us a winner but it will always take teamwork, discipline and intelligence for you to become a champion.”
Paul Erick D. Navarro of Greyhounds and Sharon B. O’Brien of Centaurs trailed as first runners up, while Fritz Gerald G. Caranias of Centaurs and Antonette S. Barabad of Sylvan Dragons trailed as second runners up.
