The University Supreme Student Council (USSC) introduced the new Viscan Attendance Management System (VAMS), the official tracking tool for all university-wide activities under USSC-CSSC, to provide student leaders with an efficient tool to monitor and manage student participation, yesterday, September 17.

Hon. Renel N. Emberso and Hon. Xyryz O. Patagnan authored the implementation of VAMS, in collaboration with the Computer Science Students’ Society Organization (CS3), which is set to hold its initial operation throughout the duration of this year's Salingkusog from September 19-22.

How will VAMS be used?

Each Viscan will receive a unique QR code sent to their respective emails which can be used for attendance at all upcoming events as their official QR ID.

For those Viscans who can no longer access their personal emails, they can create a new email in the link provided to receive an email for your QR code: https://forms.gle/C4KsZfp1ctSD368R7. Here's how to use the QR ID:

1. Either print your QR Code or screenshot a copy on your mobile devices.

2. Present your QR Code ID during VAMS events to the officers in charge.

3. Let the officers in charge scan your QR codes.

As of this writing, Hon. Emberso confirmed that a total of 100% of the Viscan population received their respective QR codes, but they are still checking messages on Facebook and email for those who didn't receive them due to errors.

Moreover, Hon. Emberso further confirmed that the Computer Science Students Society (CS3) is creating a lineup in case a system downgrade occurs since this setup was only recently established.

"100% na siya. We’re still looking into messages sa email and Facebook sa wala jud kadawat due to errors."

The VAMS is targeted to be used by the University Supreme Student Council, College Supreme Student Council, and student-led organizations of Visayas State University, except for the College of Management and Economics as they refuse to adopt the system.
