As the first week of September gleamed, Mulberry Men’s Hall launched its annual celebration of Mulberrian’ culture with the commencement of Mulberry Week 2024 last September 2 to 6, at the Visayas State University (VSU) Upper Campus. This year’s theme, “Thread of Togetherness: Weaving Unity Beyond Diversity,” hopes to explore while celebrating the rich tapestry of what the unique Mulberrian community offers.

The festivities officially kicked-off with their very craft-sy, very mindful,  and very vibrant  “Jologs Parade”, where they showcased their creative and self-made outfits that ranged from whimsical to bold craftiness, even with the limited resources. The first day also highlighted several competitions such as the crowning of Mr. Chuk Chak, Kian Esparcia, Mr. Rampa Michelin, Glenn Oballo, and Mr. Jologs 2024 winner, Mr. Jonathan John Canoy.

Day 2’s “Date Night” is an evening filled with joyful interaction and shared commons where Mariposa Girl’s Dormitory also joined in to bond and bring in closer interests with each other. The third day brought in the romantic “Harana Night”, a cherished tradition where Mulberrians serenaded the three ladies dormitories in the upper campus; the Sampaguita Ladies Dormitory, Ilang-ilang Ladies Dormitory, and Mariposa Ladies’ Hall, in their romantic songs and waltz performances.

The week concluded on September 6, with a Movie Marathon that reminisced the Mulberry Men’s Hall nostalgic events from the past years and the featured selection of films offered to watch-goer’s interest. This year’s edition of Mulberry Week has been nothing short of fun and showed to be a successful celebration bringing unity and craftiness to the Viscan community.
