BAYBAY CITY, Philippines--‘United to develop Healthy, Successful Youth in a drug-free Community’ was the theme of the Health Forum spearheaded by the Institute of Human Kinetics on its 40 years celebration, March 3, at the VSU Gymnasium.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) leaded the forum participated by VSU LHS students, IHK Faculty and Staff and MAPEH students.

Dr. Rogellete T. Urgel Public Information Officer and Chief of Preventive Education- PDEA talked about prohibited drugs and why should it be avoided.

‘Aside from it is prohibited by law under RA 9165, it can destroy physical and mental health’, MS. Urgel added.

She also said that today’s generation is highly vulnerable to drugs and one way to maximize participation against it is to conduct seminars and forums.

According to Section 42, Article 2 of the RA 9165 of the 1987 Constitution, student councils and campus organizations should participate in preventing drug addiction among the youth.

Dr. Aleli A. Villocino, IHK Director said this event should haven’t been for the high school students only but for the whole university since drug is a problem and everyone should know and care about it.
