BAYBAY CITY, Leyte – A few hours before election.
On July 22, 2017, Saturday, the presidents-elect of the different college councils will vote on a new leader for the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) for SY 2017-2018.
Vying for the position are incoming council presidents of the College of Engineering (COE) John Allan Gulles, College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) John Gerard Abando and College of Food and Science (CAFS) Jeanie Rose Deluza.
“It’s a yes game for me,” said Gulles, voicing out his interest for the position despite having no clear platform.
“I want to talk about platforms if I will be in the position because, you can’t see a lot of things when you’re not in the position yet. But once you are in there there will be a lot of changes,” explained Gulles.
Abando is also unsure what his platform will be but he has expressed his interest to continue outgoing USSC President Mark Unlu-cay’s endeavors and review the CBL.

College of Management & Economics (CME) President, Khim Limuel Tamaca, who topped polls during the last USSC Assembly has made it clear that he has no interest for the most powerful student regent position.
But he is eyeing the USSC Vice President seat to focus his projects on external affairs.
Amaranth can’t reach Deluza as of now due to her internship program in AGREA, but she will be back in time for the election.
