With the passion to serve and to be a better representation of the student body, ten delegations from different respective student councils of Visayas State University (VSU) attended the recently concluded Philippine Association of Campus Student Adviser (PACSA)  Midyear National Convention held in Boracay, Philippines, last November 19-21, 2023. 

Great minds from VSU once again left their mark on the global field of research on complex systems. Carl Michael Dela Cruz and John Niño T. Derecho, students of Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics presented each of their research papers at the Conference on Complex Systems (CCS) held in Salvador, Brazil last October 16-21, 2023. 

Computer Science students from Visayas State University (VSU) showcased their dominance in the field of programming by securing two 1st place and two 2nd place during the first-ever Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Eastern Visayas Coding Olympics (EVCO), held via Zoom, October 24, 2023.

Seven student journalists from Amaranth, the official student media organization of Visayas State University, presented two projects for the PACE of the Future Camp last October 20-22 at Lyceum of the Philippines Cavite.

Visayas State University (VSU) Pythons’ Daniel Acasio and University of the Philippines Tacloban (UPT) Fighting Maroons’ Tiffany Grace Ronato were proclaimed winners as the newest titleholders of Mister & Miss State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA-8) 2023 while Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) Praying Mantises’ Bien Aris Siguan and Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) Sealions’ Jessajane Belic bagged the Mister & Miss Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC-8) 2023 titles, during the Mister and Miss SUC 8 2023 pageant held October 24, at the VSU Gymnatorium.

The two-day Geodetic Engineering Congress (GEC) and Geographic Information System Convention (GISC) 2023 culminated as a momentous convergence of academic and professional intellect by uniting distinguished speakers and delegates from the Visayas region at the Visayas State University (VSU) last November 28 to 29.

As this year’s Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (SCUAA-8) games come to an end, Visayas State University, one of the 11 competing State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) resurfaced and instilled triumphant strength, gathering trophy after trophy, emerging to the top as the final victor during the closing ceremony of the 37th Regional SCUAA games yesterday, October 27, at the Visayas State University (VSU) Gymnatorium.
